This week's topic is: (Freebie) Authors I've Read the Most Books By
For this week's Freebie topic, I decided to catch up on a topic that I missed a couple weeks ago--authors I've read the most books by! This was tricky to figure out and I'm sure I could've missed something obvious, but this is what I able to deduce from Goodreads! I also wasn't sure if I should include the large series I read as a kid (such as Heartland by Lauren Brooke, Phantom Stallion by Terri Farley, Nancy Drew, Warriors by Erin Hunter, etc...), then there's the question of whether I include each volume of Sandman as one individual book (which would be 13 alone!), then the fact that I have read exactly five books from a lot of authors? It must be magic author number or something because so many were exactly five books read by an author, so these are 5+ books read by an author!
Regardless, here's a sampling of some of my most-read authors!
Haruki Murakami: 13
Neil Gaiman: 8-19
(If you count Sandman as one entire volume, then it's 8. If you count it individually... 19 if you count Sandman individually, which I'm inclined to do.)
Sarah J. Maas: 11
J.K. Rowling: 10
(I know JKR is sort of unpopular these days, but I can't change what I've read!)
Tamora Pierce: 10
Catherynne M. Valente: 9
Jay Kristoff: 8
Seanan McGuire/Mira Grant: 7
I decided to combine McGuire and Grant since they are the same author, just written under different names.
Michel Faber: 6
Christina Henry: 6
Okay, I haven't finished The Ghost Tree yet, but I was granted access via NetGalley and I'm just starting so I'm counting it!
Have you read anything from these authors? Who are some of your most-read authors!?

Wow, you've read a lot of Haruki Murakami's books. How neat.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT .
He is easily (and probably obviously, haha) one of my favorite authors, I cannot get enough of his writing!
DeleteJ.K. Rowling probably should have made my list, because I also read The Casual Vacancy in addition to the Harry Potter books. I really want to read more from Christina Henry!
ReplyDeleteI almost forgot about The Casual Vacancy when I was writing this, it is hard to remember for some reason, haha. I also can't recommend Christina Henry enough!
DeleteI get what you mean about books you read in childhood, even though I haven't read any Lauren Brooke books in years, she's technically my most read author because I read all of the Heartland books (plus special editions) and the Chestnut Hill books as well.

I loved the Heartland books so much! I don't think I ever read the Chestnut Hill books, but now looking them up I wish I had--young me would've loved them! She's probably one of my higher read authors, too.
DeleteThis is such a cool post! I'll remember this one.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge Sarah J Maas fan :) Glad to see you enjoy her books too. Well, I hope so since you've read a lot of them, lol!
Thanks! And I definitely do! I can see where the criticism comes from, but they are just so fun and compelling. :)
DeleteOh wow, have you already read Ghost Tree? Super excited to dive into that. I'm surprised by how many Michel Faber books you've read. I actually didn't know he had so many!
ReplyDeleteI cheated a little bit because I've only read the beginning, but I know I'm going to read it through so I figured I might as well include it! It always surprises me how many Michel Faber has as well, although many are short story collections. I wish he were still writing!
DeleteSo many greats! I need to pick up Valente one of these days. :)
ReplyDeleteLauren @ Always Me
Definitely! Her prose can be very purple-ish, but it's so beautiful and quirky and compelling!
DeleteI'm a massive fan of Sarah J. Maas as well! Here is my post-https://paigesofbook.blogspot.com/2020/07/top-ten-tuesday-favorite-books-of-2020.html.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Her books are always easy for me to fall into and enjoy.
DeleteI really need to give Sarah J. Maas' stories a try sometime.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Definitely! I think her books can be hit or miss for some people, but I really think her series improve with each book, and they are such entertaining stories.
DeleteI only read 2 of Murakami's books and I find them kind of twisty and weird.
ReplyDeleteI really like how some authors book covers matches even when they're not part of a series, like Murakami's books.
My TTT is here - some thoughts on romance books.
Have a lovely day.
Wow! You really HAVE read a lot of books by these authors!
ReplyDeleteI've never read Neil Gaiman, which seems so weird! I have read a few McGuire/ Grant books though. I was actually surprised how many of her books I've read.
ReplyDeleteI do need to read more Christina Henry since I liked the Girl in Red.
I know my most-read authors are Stephen King and Margaret Atwood. I also tend to read 5-ish books by an author and then quit. I noticed that when I did this post topic a few weeks ago. I want to read more Michel Faber. I loved The Book of Strange New Things.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I love Seanan McGuire's books! Happy reading! :)
