Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book blog meme now hosted by Jana over at The Artsy Reader Girl!
This week's topic is: Books I Could Read in One Sitting
I wish I was given the opportunity to read more books in one sitting simply because I love the idea of not having to be pulled out of a story I'm really loving. However, I also sometimes enjoy drawing out a story if I'm particularly loving it–does anyone else get like that?
Regardless, I don't typically have the time (or attention span) to read books in one sitting, but here's a few that I feel pretty confident about being able to read through in one sitting if I so desired (mainly because they're all short!).
Life of Alexander the Great by Plutarch
Mapping the Interior by Stephen Graham-Jones
The Strange Library by Haruki Murakami
The Sleeper and the Spindle by Neil Gaiman
The Test by Sylvain Neuvel
The Dream Hunters by Neil Gaiman
Apocrypha by Catherine M. Valente
Yvain: The Knight of the Lion by M.T. Anderson
Final Girls by Mira Grant
The Sandman (any installment) by Neil Gaiman
Do you like reading books in one sitting? Have you ever read a book in one sitting?
I don't have the time to read a book in one sitting, and I don't read that fast anyway. I get what you mean about drawing a good story out! Also when a book starts to get too intense or emotional, I need to take a break 😁
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I don't recognize any of your books! So that means I can go and search for new books to add to my TBR. Yea!!

I’ve heard great things about The Sleeper and the Spindle.

I've seen several people today say that they intentionally don't read fast because they want to savor a story. I get that, but I still tend to buzz through books pretty quickly. Maybe because I'm trying to read as many as I can so I don't miss anything?? I really should slow down and enjoy the experience more.

I can definitely finish a book in a day, but not one sitting. When I am loving a book, I usually have to stop myself from inhaling it too quickly!
ReplyDeleteGreat list of books! For me, it's been ages since I've read a book in one day. That said, if a book has me truly captivated, I can finish it in a couple of days.
