Top Ten Tuesday: Book Covers That I'd Love to Jump Into

Top Ten Tuesday is weekly book blog meme now hosted by Jana over at The Artsy Reader Girl!

This week's topic is: Books That Awaken the Travel Bug In Me
I feel like I've done this topic before, so I decided to switch things up a bit. Instead of the original prompt, I'm instead featuring some book covers with settings or scenes that I would love to jump into and spendsome time in. It sounds weird, but haven't you ever seen a cover that just looked so fun or beautiful that you would love to be wherever that cover is?

I've also gone over ten books (surprise), but I think it's pretty clear by now that I'm bad at sticking to limits--and this was after taking a lot of the list. Come on, it's not my fault publishers choose to include settings that I really want to experience on the covers.

The Glass Town Game by Catherynne M. Valente
This setting just looks so fun! Hot air balloons, a colorful-looking city below, why wouldn't I want to jump in and join the festivities?

The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden
I love the dark, snowy setting with the trees and tiny little cabin. It looks like the perfect place to spend some time. It even has a little hint of mystery that just adds to it.

The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden
This also just looks like a beautiful setting--but I only want to join it if I can ride the horse.

Senlin Ascends by Josiah Bancroft (review)
All the layers! So much to explore! I don't want to be as big as that man on the cover, but if I could  be small enough to explore that huge tower of Babel, I want to jump in!

The Problim Children by Natalie Lloyd (review)
It looks like such a fun little house, and I'd love to spend time with the Problims!

The Changeling by Victor Lavalle
I love forest and this one looks incredibly mysterious and intriguing. I'd want to check it out.

Master Assassins by Robert V.S. Redick (review)
Okay, so I don't really want to jump into the mess featured on the cover, but I do love big scary animals, so I'd like to see it in person. That's pretty much why I want to jump into this one. But I'd also rather not be eaten, so...

The Shadow Land by Elizabeth Kostova (review)
I know the cover is really small here, but through the little door you can see a sneak of some truly gorgeous scenery that I would love to visit.

The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty (review)
I'm not sure exactly what it is about this cover that makes me want to be a part of it, but I think the subtle buildings, open land, and fire-looking madness in the back looks appealing.

Carnegie's Maid by Marie Benedict (review)
I do love a beautiful building, and I have a feeling that the room the woman is standing in is stunning. I wouldn't mind exploring.

The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne M. Valente

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling
Okay, so I'd like to jump into any of the Harry Potter covers, but I really like Hippogriffs, so I want to just jump on and hope that Buckbeak can handle a third passenger.

When the Sea Turned to Silver by Grace Lin (review)
This one didn't fit with the other rows, but I couldn't not include because they are riding some sort of dragon creature and it looks so magical. If only.

  3. I like how you did this! Great idea. There are some amazing cover scenes out there that I'd love to jump into! Master Assassins does look great, although yeah maybe to read, not to jump into THAT scene. :)

The Wishing Spell and Valente's cover for Fairyland are also awesome, and have that nice magical feel!
