The Friday Face-Off: Mist/Fog

Friday Face Off New
Welcome to The Friday Face-Off, a weekly meme at Books by Proxy. Join us every Friday as we pit cover against cover, and publisher against publisher, to find the best artwork in our literary universe. You can find a list of upcoming topics at Lynn's Books.

This week's topic is:
Mist/Fog

This week's topic lent itself to quite a few different options to choose from, so I just decided to a bit of a variety (plus, a lot of these covers only had one or two options to begin with). I noticed mist and fog seem to be a popular choice for books about people who have gone missing, which are the first three books below--all of which are fantastic reads, by the way!

2013 Hardcover | 2020 Hardcover | 2020 Hardcover

2016 Hardcover | 2011 Mass Market Paperback | 2020 Paperback

2019 Hardcover | 2018 Hardcover | 2000 Penguin Classic Paperback

My choice(s):
Turns out, I guess I like misty/foggy book covers because it was hard to choose! Both of these stand out to me, though I'm starting to think I might be even more partial to The Cold Vanish.. I also love the cover for The Hollow Places!

What cover(s) do you like the most!?

  1. I immediately thought of The Hollow Places for this prompt, since I just got a copy, and i love this selection you found! My favorite is definitely Dead Mountain, something about the skiers disappearing into the fog is so creepy😬
