Current Read #14

I am finally continuing Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy (it's been... a while since I read the first book, oops) and I'm currently about 75% through the second book, Royal Assassin, which I'm enjoying immensely! Fortunately, since it's such a well-loved story, there are a wide variety of covers to explore, so let's have a look at some of them!

2014 Harper Voyager PB | 2008 Italian | 2020 Illustrated Edition

2017 Spanish | 1997 Voyager Mass Market | 2014 Polish

1997 Spectra Mass Market | 2017 German | 2017 Romanian

2020 Turkish | 2021 Italian | 2018 French

1998 Hebrew | 2008 Hungarian | 2016 Subterranean Press

1997 Polish | 1999 French | ? Spanish

My choice(s):
There's such a variety among all of these! I actually really like a lot, like the 2017 Spanish, the 1998 Hebrew, 2020 Turkish, illustrated edition... and quite a few others. These are all so creative and I always like seeing what themes different publishers choose to highlight, or what characters and overall plot elements they deem cover-worthy. I'm probably partial to the 2014 Harper Voyager paperback because I love how classic it feels and the overall style really works for me, but honestly, there's a lot of great ones (and even more I didn't even have room for here!). Which cover(s) do you like best for Royal Assassin?

  1. Wow, these are all so different! I like the simplicity of the French edition.

  2. I like this series. The Harper Voyager and the 97 Voyager version might be my faves. The Whelan cover is the one I read. Although it's not one of my faves by him. Looks like they reused it for the Spanish version I guess.
