September was a crazy blur, but the reason for that is because I got married on September 21st! After almost seven years together, we thought it was time. We didn't have an actual wedding because neither of us really likes big events (especially when the attention is focused on us-no thank you!) and we would rather save the money, so we just had my mom, sister, and his parents come out and my brother-in-law married us since he was already ordained (which was pretty handy). It was super easy, casual, and worked well for us. We were initially planning to just get married at the courthouse, but I think this worked out better. We also decided to just do a delayed honeymoon next summer and instead just spent a night at a nice local hotel as a mini-trip.
I'm not sure why the lighting is so horrible, but that's why I made this small. |
In slightly less life-altering news, I got a review blurbed in a book that I love! (!!) A few months back I got an email from a publicist at Ebury Publishing asking if they could use a line from my review for The Toymakers in the new paperback edition, so of course I said yes! I was so excited that I didn't think to ask them use my blog name instead of just 'Goodreads,' but who cares, I know it's me. This might not seem cool to other people (?), but I'm ecstatic.
In book related news, I still managed to read more than I expected? I don't know. Maybe I read when I'm not looking, because I don't remember reading eleven books. I also DNF'd two books, which is always disappointing, but it happens. How was your September reading month? I"m super excited for reading and getting into spooky October reads! I hope you all had a great month!
As I've mentioned before, I'm also a Book Depository Affiliate and an Amazon affiliate! If you'd like to know more about that, I included some info about in this post.
