This week's topic is: Books With Single Word Titles
I didn't realize that I would find as many single-word titles as I did, which made it difficult for me to decide which lucky ones would be featured! I ended up just picking some random ones (though all ones that I thoroughly enjoyed!) and I also included fifteen, because, well, why not? I feel like books that have only a single word as the title have a sort of underlying boldness about them because of the sense that only a single word is needed to embody the entire journey that is about to be embarked upon in each book--which also led me to decide not to include any sort of synopsis about these books and instead let their title (and covers!) speak for themselves.
Crossings by Alex Landragin
Nottingham by Nathan Makaryk
Alice by Christina Henry
Deeplight by Frances Hardinge
Fingersmith by Sarah Waters
Kingshold by D.P. Woolliscroft
Palimpsest by Catherynne M. Valente
Radiance by Catherynne M. Valente
Confessions by Kanae Minato
Munmun by Jesse Andrews
Dreamland by Nancy Bilyeau
Below by Alexandria Warwick
Nightbooks by J.A. White
Torn by Rowenna Miller
Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones
Have you read any of these books? What single word titles come to mind for you!?
I like the way the covers and titles work together to tell you what the book is about, especially in the case of Dreamland and Alice!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I really want to cross Nottingham off my TBR - it sounds so interesting.
