The Friday Face-Off: Glasses

Friday Face Off New
Welcome to The Friday Face-Off, a weekly meme at Books by Proxy. Join us every Friday as we pit cover against cover, and publisher against publisher, to find the best artwork in our literary universe. You can find a list of upcoming topics at Lynn's Books.

This week's topic is:
“One could mention many lovable traits in Smee. For instance, after killing, it was his spectacles he wiped instead of his weapon.” -- Glasses or spectacles

This week was an easy topic to look for, but surprisingly few of my books I looked through actually had glasses on the cover! I chose to feature a few covers of Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami and Stoner by John Williams since the selection was so limited.

My choice(s):
Kafka on the ShoreStoner
I love this set of US Vintage editions of Kafka on the Shore because I think they have a great style and they fit the general oddness of Murakami's books. I also really love this edition of Stoner; it's very classic and I think just captures the sort of general emotion of the protagonist at various points in the book.

What cover(s) do you like the most!?
