Month in Review: February 2020

February was a packed reading month and I mainly focused on getting through all of my upcoming spring ARCs that have been piling--and I think I did a pretty good job at that, if I may say so. I read through about eleven or so upcoming 2020 ARCs, as well as one old ARC and just a couple backlist books I'd been meaning to check out. This month was honestly sort of a mixed bag of books, because I read some truly phenomenal five star reads that I can't get enough of (The House in the Cerulean Sea, The Only Good Indians, The Obsidian Tower), a really clever and inventive book that I'm still obsessed with (Crossings), and then some books that really just fell flat with me and I don't have super strong feelings about them one way or another (Providence, Master Class). I don't have reviews up yet for most of these ARCs, but you should expect them in the next couple months in accordance with their release dates!

In personal news... I'm not sure I have much to report, personally. I've been incredibly busy with this semester of grad school because I'm taking one more class than I did last semester and I am feeling the heavy load immensely--not sure I'll do a load this heavy again, haha. I'm enjoying my classes, but since they are heavily centered around Rome I'm finding myself missing all my Greek content! I'm still debating whether I should include some of my school readings into my monthly wrap-ups since I do end up reading a lot of extra stuff.

Also, I really want to take this time to once again apologize for how awful I have been at responding to comments/visiting blogs and commenting in a timely manner lately! Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with work/school and getting my posts up on time that I find very little time left to actually do the interaction part, which is honestly what I love the most about blogging. I try to set aside some time at the end of each week at minimum to make sure I can go through and respond to everything, but please bear with me as I'm a bit slow still. (This also applies to anyone who has emailed me with a review request/etc.--I'm a couple weeks behind on those, but I'm working on them and will hopefully get back to you all soon!)

So finally...How was your reading month? Did you read any great books? Have you read any of the books I read? Let me know!

  2. I'm happy to hear you loved The Only Good Indians and The House in the Cerulean Sea. I'm so jealous of how far ahead you are with ARCs, and it's amazing because you're in grad school too😁

    1. Haha, I just told myself that if I don't start reading them now, I'm going to end up being so behind that I will probably end up not getting to some!
