I truly can't believe that November is already over, and I can't decide if it felt like a fast month or a slow one at this point.
In personal news, I feel like there's not much to report. Work has been a bit busier, so that's nice, but I'm still looking for something, although I do think I'm getting more discouraged by the day–but I also know that things take time, so I'm trying to just keep my eyes open and looking for a good opportunity! My husband and I will finally (hopefully) be adopting a new furry family member this month, also, which has me super excited! I love dogs and have grown up with dogs, so I can't wait for us to finally have one of our own now that we live in a home better suited for a large dog. I spent this Thanksgiving at my husband's because my family was all out of state, and I have to say the most surprising thing to me is that his 101 year old grandma still makes dishes for the meal–and won't let you tell her to go rest! Thanksgiving is always hard for me since it's the anniversary of my dad's death, and this year marked 15 years, which just seems like so long. It's still hard to process it sometimes, even though it's been so many years, and I think that is the hardest part of any loss sometimes. But to end on a lighter nighter, I hope that you all had a great November, and that if you celebrate any holidays that you had a wonderful time! 😀
In book news, it seems like this month was a little all over the place. I've finally been feeling less slump-y (mostly), but I've still struggled a lot lately with deciding what books to read next. Because of that, I decided to just start tackling some 2022 books in advance (and actually keep good notes for reviews!), which makes me feel less stressed about all the ARCs I already seem to have for 2022 🤣–and it made me really excited for all the books coming out next year because they've been great so far! Some highlights from the month were The Justice of Kings, Jade Legacy, The Violence, A Registry of My Passage Upon the Earth, The Carnival of Ash, and The Bone Shard Emperor! Honestly, I enjoyed most of these books, so I'd say a good month overall.
How was your month? Have you read any new favorites books, or anything that just didn't work for you? Let me know in the comments how things are, I love hearing from you all!

Wow, your husband's grandmother sounds like an amazing lady!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited you're getting a dog! I hope you post pictures! And wow, you've read so many 2022 books already. I'm trying to get ahead too but I'm not sure I can do as well as you do. I want to be just like you someday, Jordan!🤣
