Month in Review: November 2020

Well, December is finally here! I'm really not sure how I feel about that, to be honest. I know most people are chomping at the bit for it to be 2021, but I feel like I need to slow down and take a breath before the new year, as I've always found myself a bit anxious around the new year.  How has was your November? It seems to be a consensus that November felt long for everyone, though it feels like it was both fast and slow for me. Nothing too exciting has happened in my life, except for the fact that I finished my last two papers and two finals of the semester and I am officially done until January! (!!) I really can't even describe the sense of relief I feel right now, this past semester has been one of the hardest. Now I can catch up on blogging and commenting and end of the year book stuff! And maybe catch up on some reading? ;)

In reading news, this was mostly a pretty good month of reading, though I've still felt like I'm in a bit of a weird funk with reading which I'm not sure how to describe. The Burning God, the final book in The Poppy War trilogy, came our this month and it was amazing! I similarly read and loved Looking Glass, Tree and Leaf (I absolutely loved this collection and I highly recommend it), and In the Heart of the Sea. I also finally finished my second ever audiobook, A Tale of Magic by Chris Colfer, and it was truly a delight. Now it's on to the sequel!

Anyway, how was your guys' reading month!? Read any new favorites? Anything not so great? Let me know!

  1. Congrats on the end of the semester! Hope you have a lot of time to relax now! I'm a little torn about the end of the year coming, just because things are so up in the air right now.

  2. Congrats on finishing up your semester! Looks like you had a good month. I'm really happy to see you gave The Project 4 stars😁 I know lots of people are acting like the minute 2020 is over, all our problems will miraculously disappear, but I'm not sure 2021 is going to be much better, at least in the beginning. Hoping but trying to stay realistic...

    1. Thanks! I should have a review for The Project up closer to February, haha, I try not to read ARCs too early usually for that reason, but sometimes it happens.
I feel the same way about 2021, and I feel like I've started to become annoyed by how much hope people are pinning to 2021 haha, it's too much pressure. But here's to hoping it's better!

  3. Congrats on your semester! My reading was down in November so I'm hoping it will pick up this month. :) I like the look of a lot of these books- several are new to me so I need to check them out. The Project by Courtney Summers has me super curious.

    1. Haha, I can understand that! It was really interesting--I hadn't read anything by Courtney Summers before so I'm not sure what her style is usually like, but I thought she played a lot with timelines and perspectives in some interesting ways!
