And that's another month all wrapped up! It went fast, but I also really enjoyed the spooky season this year. I always do, but I tried to really make more time for it this year and I think it helped boost my spirits (no pun intended) a bit. My husband and I collected some Halloween decorations for our apartment this year and it has been so fun! I'm sad to have to take them down (although we bought a decent-sized wolf skeleton replica thing and look, we named him Sawtooth after the Sawtooth pack and he may just become a year-round member of the family because how do you just shove a pet in the closet? We'll see...) And for once, there's not a lot to report on the personal front this month, things have been relatively the same between school and job-hunting and all that is life (I only have about four more weeks in this semester also, how crazy is that!? It's gone ridiculously fast). We did also have our AC stop working again for about a week, but fortunately it was cool enough to not be a major hindrance. How are things going for you guys? I hope your October was either uneventful or eventful in good ways!
In reading news, it was a pretty good month numbers-wise! I ended up reading quite a few more than I expected, so that's always satisfying. Content-wise, it mostly good, but I had such a hard time finding books that actually gave me shivers or spooked me and I'm not sure why. I read quite a mix of books I loved and books I really disliked, so that definitely makes this month stand out a bit more than others where I tend to enjoy a wider amount of them. Some stand-outs were The Terror, Flesh Eater, Rules for Vanishing, and The Poison Thread! The "spookiest" ones were probably The Terror, A Head Full of Ghosts, an Rules for Vanishing, and The Poison Thread, and the ones that were the most fun were easily Flesh Eater and Among the Beasts and Briars.

Rules for Vanishing did have some spooky elements in it - I liked all the different formats in the book!
